The pedestrian tunnel  (or St-Anna tunnel) was as a Santa Klaus gift to the Antwerpians opened on December 6th, 1932 but it was therefore not for free at that time (10 cents/crossing). It's building lasted between 1931 and 1932. It is 527 meter long buried 31 meter under ground and water. It is located on the St-Jansvliet. Almost in front of the Scheldt (Zuiderterras).

The building at the "city" bank, right in front the elevator.
Left and right entrance and exit for those who walk all the way down...

Tunnel building seen from the walkways along the Scheldt.

Here we go: down the shaft through the escalators, direction left bank.

First intermediate underground floor, where we change escalators.

The tunnel itself, 572 meter long.

First underground floor at the left bank. Hardly anything has changed since 1932... Nice time capsule!

Last escalator before reaching surface at the left bank.

And now... down again back to the City, this is the entrance of the tunnel at the end of the 2nd shaft.
As the tunnel is not so wide as the shafts there is a restriction (left of the picture).
Back in the tunnel again...
and how it looks like on a tile map:
Length: 572 meter
Outer diameter: 4.74 meter
Inner diameter: 4.30 meter
Floor walkway: 31.57 meter
Head cover plaque warf's wall: right bank
"The boring of this tunnel was ended on December 6th, 1932 in the presence of the board of directors of the ..."
Up again, first escalator.
Underground intermediate floor.
Both escalators.

The one that brings you back to the surface.

and here we are... Back in Antwerp.
